CAIRO, Dec. 4 .- A full temple dating back over 3,500 years was found in Sohag, 500 kilometers south of Cairo, in a region that probably hides many temples of New Kingdom pharaohs of Egypt (1539 - 1075 BC).
Today reported the Egyptian daily Al Ahram, the temple was found six feet deep by a farmer, apparently, and under his house suspected archaeological remains could be found. The temple appeared in a region where supposedly many temples are located Pharaohs of the eighteenth and nineteenth dynasties, which were built during the reigns of Amenhotep II and Ramesses II making offerings to their gods. On the walls of the temple are the names of some kings of these periods as well as several inscriptions and drawings, among most notably the tables where they made offerings to the gods and the famous Key of Life (which has a cross with a loop on the upper arm). The authorities have confirmed that the region where it was held again finding several old houses built on the roof and columns of temples built to the god "Anoris" and his wife, the goddess "MiHT" New Kingdom, the paper said. The excavation work will continue in the region and is expected to they are more temples under the houses, the report said.
